Hudson May 2025 Update

We always thank God…when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people… For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. - Colossians 1:3-14 (read the rest of the verses to

enjoy the hope that we have!)

Death can be so hard, and yet with eternal hope, we know sadness doesn’t last a lifetime. Peter came back for a weekend in March to see my parents, but also finally after 2 years, to bury our precious daughter, Anaya. We look forward to our reunion again one day in Heaven.

As Peter was gone in March, and we had several guest preachers in April, there was a break in the Matthew series. The latest sermon preached by our teammate, Tim Wheeler, was on this Colossians passage. We pray this passage for you all and count it as a privilege to share in the faith, love, hope, and fruit of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray for Tim and his wife, Sharon, as they officially retire from ABWE in July. They have served 25 years on the field and have always opened up their home to us whenever we traveled to Bogota. We called them the “parents.” We will miss them greatly!

Kid’s Club continues to go well, and last Saturday we had a children’s day where they could dress up and invite as many friends as possible. Some people from church even brought their neighbor kids! Several of the ladies from church helped out, and 30 kids came in total!

Many heard the gospel for the first time! We pray they come back, but most importantly, that the gospel was forever planted in their hearts!

Youth group has a new group now! It took a while to get the group going, and some days only 1 or 2 showed up since the beginning of the year, but it has been fun now with around 12 teens. Natalia, Juan David’s sister, whom many of you know, has been consistent as well, so it is fun to see some old faces rejoin church groups.

The women’s group is pretty self-sufficient now, and we are thankful. Though extremely exhausted with work and raising their families, the women saw the need to help Heidi out and learn, study, and teach the class. Please pray for strength for them and wisdom.

The university students are studying Ecclesiastes, but pray for them as many of them are facing trials right now and trying to maintain their faith in a fallen world.

Personally, we celebrated Zaion’s 6 months on April 21! He loves food and is now making it essential to watch him as he rolls and spins himself everywhere. We praise God for a fun little chubbers! I have though what is called “Mom’s Wrist”, a severe form of tendonitis, from picking him up and am in extreme pain. Pray I can find a solution for it and that the pain will soon subside.

Additionally, pray for Marissa as she submits her visa within the week, for Peter to finish his semester well in seminary, for Zaion’s pediatric appointment today and that he will have a good weight report, for wisdom for Peter and I as we deal with some counseling situations

in some of the couples at church.

For His Kingdom,

Jamie, Peter, Zaion, (Anaya & Shai), Max the dog

Our beloved Miriam fell extremely ill a month and a half ago. Shortly after her 65th bday, she passed. We spent many days visiting her and Peter was even given the opportunity to share the gospel and pray at her funeral. We believe through her limited understanding that she is with Jesus. Pray for her family and that salvation will come to them as well.

Tim and Sharon came because the church held its first real men’s event, and Tim spoke at it. It was a great time, and several men came from outside of the church. Pray that God will soften the men’s hearts to his Word!

Goodbye Wheelers, we love you guys, and thanks for watching Zaion so we could go on a date!

Zaion loving blueberries and getting stuck now under things!

At the end of March, I flew with Z and Heidi and Marissa to meet Peter and the rest of the ABWE Colombia team who serve in Bogota and the Amazon for our annual retreat. It was to be held in October, but Zaion and also Gianna, were born! 3 days apart!
